Their first collaboration was a huge success, and now Eminem and Rihanna are teaming up for a part 2 to their famed “Love The Way You Lie.” The song spent a number of weeks at the top of the billboard charts before finally being ousted and will likely be remembered as the biggest single of 2010. Now, they are hoping to grow the success of the first version of the song with a sequel that will be featured on Rihanna’s upcoming album entitled “Loud.”
Eminem’s latest album, “Recovery” was fueled by the success of the song that went on to overshadow even his lead single “Not Afraid” which also spent a few weeks at the top of the charts. While the first song was Eminem-heavy, the second version of the song features much more Rihanna than it does Eminem.
The first version of the song dealt heavily with spousal abuse and domestic violence and the second version of the song has a similar theme. It will be interesting to see if the song is able to top the charts like the first version did. Rihanna has not announced that she will be releasing it as an official single, but the song is already receiving heavy play on all fo the major stations.
The sound of the song is very similar to the original “Love the Way You Lie” and deals with a similar subject matter. Eminem’s lyrics are infused with the same passion that has made him famous throughout the years, and “Love the Way You Lie Part 2” appears poised to top the charts once again.
