Grand Rapids MI blogger meet-up, Friday!

Friday night was the Grand Rapids blogger meet-up! Lauren, Cat and I packed up Lauren's car and headed out to GR for the Aqualush fashion show and to meet up with nine other bloggers!

The fashion show was nice, I really liked the hair and makeup. Some of the models looked like they did not want to be there at all, and some of the outfits were kinda meh, but I really liked the band that performed during the show; Alexis. The lead singer was my hair twin! I have not really come across a guy in person who donned the blunt bangs before, but it kind of just fit him.

The best part was just meeting all of the girls. There are more and more bloggers in Michigan, a lot of fashion bloggers to be exact and it was funny to chat about clothes and blogging with other girls, but we wound up just goofing around for the most part.

We took some outfit photos at the event, it was a little dark, but hey, we are fashion bloggers! Gotta document the style right? I did wear shorts under my dress because it looked a little short. I tried to break out of my habit of just wearing black tights too. These are from halloween and I never wound up wearing them, but hey I had no where else to wear them so why not?

I love these photos because they are almost the opposite of the fashion show after parties that you see in magazines. Everyone here is all smiles :)

After the show we headed out to the Bob (building of bars), in Grand Rapids. We munched on food, sipped drinks and Tieka handed out awesome gift bags. We then headed upstairs to dance for a bit, which was mostly us just jumping around and laughing but it was a lot of fun.

I have a few more photos to share with everyone that I will put up on the next post so stay tuned!

Simply having a wonderful Christmas time

Saturday Cat from Midwest Mayhem threw a Holiday party so Kyle and I dressed up. Well, I dressed up and Kyle tried to find an ugly sweater to wear, I think he looked pretty cute! A little modern Jimmy Stewart if you ask me. I had to borrow this lace top from Lauren because my dress would have left me a little exposed. After we manged to get all gussied up, we headed over to Lauren and Kevin's to pile into the car and get going.

We had a pretty fun time munching on all the yummy food Cat made and sipping on her spiced cider. Lauren and I requested a tour of the house and Cat has an awesome place! We even managed to get a few pics together too.

It is now Monday afternoon and I am typing to you guys from my lovely new lappy! Remember those black Friday purchases Kyle and I bought? Well we are both the proud new owners of HP Pavilions! I still don't have Microsoft office, but we might be installing it before school starts. Currently I am sitting in a coffee house in yuppie Birmingham using the free Wifi as well. I am excited to be able to get out of the apartment to do homework next semester. Or at least be able to sit in a different room. Louie seems to prefer that I sit on the floor next to him to use the computer instead of in the computer room. Anything to please the pup right?

All of your tomorrows start here

Tuesday was a lot of work and a lot of play rolled into one. I awoke at 5pm and did my workout, showered, took forever to pick something to wear (it was sooooo hot nothing looked comfy) and settled on this. It's pretty...really, basic. I actually didn't even wear the scarf until I got home and it had cooled off a bit. I worked yesterday, then went home and met Kyle at the apartment , followed him to my parents house so we could drop of his car for my brother to look at, picked up Louie and headed to the puppy wash.

Yep, Louie had a bath night. I thought it would be easier to wash him there since the tubs are so big and all, but he freaked out. Barked, whined, and tried to bite the hose. We finally got him all cleaned up and he looks so pretty and sleek right now. Then we grabbed some dinner on the way home, walked Louie, then walked to downtown Royal Oak to catch a movie at the Main Art theater. After reading the review of "The kids are alright" on Tess's blog, I really wanted to see it. Kyle and I both loved it and I recommend it to anyone really.

After the show we were hungry so we got some frozen yogurt from the Purple Spoon, which was amazing! Lauren told me about the place before but I never tried it. I was missing out! Even Kyle liked it. After walking around for a bit we headed up to Gusoline Alley to meet up with Cat, Lauren, Maria and Cole. We only had a few drinks because it was a little late and it was a weeknight and all but it was fun. I love all the MI I have met so far, we are all so goofy. This meet-up was last minute, but I hope to get a bigger one going sometime soon. That would be pretty kickass :D

She&Him Michigan Blogger Meet-up!

A Sunday of Sundays! Last night was the She&Him MI blogger Meet-up and it was awesome! A bunch of us met up in Royal Oak for some food at the Royal Oak Brewery, waited out the rain, and took some outfit pics, Kyle was sweet enough to take some group pics of us girls as well.
Next was the She&Him concert, which was simply amazing! They played almost all of their songs and some covers to boot, I had an amazing time and I have to say that they are just as good live as on their albums, if not better. The place was packed. It was a sold-out show, people were standing on each other practically but I danced as best I could and LOVED every minute of it. All the band guys, including Matt were clad in plaid, and Zooey and the Chopin sisters all wore white dresses and black tights. I wanted to jump on stage and purpose to Matt but I am pretty sure security and Kyle would have been pissed over that so I just admired him from the crowed. I really hope they come back to MI again, they were amazing.
We headed up to the bar Gusoline alley in Royal Oak for a few beers after the show and Maria meet up with us. I have to say, we had a great group of MI bloggers here and I felt so comfortable with all of them :)
