Good Girls go to Paris

The Saturday recap on a Friday! Saturday morning Kyle and I headed down to Eastern Market for the Preservation Wayne Eastern Market tour. But first we had to stop off for breakfast at Good Girls go to Paris crepes. They have a lot to pick from, the Left bank being all lunch-type crepes, with spinach and veggies, meats and cheeses, the Right being all desert-type ones. Kyle and I opted for the Right, I had a cookies and creme crepe, and Kyle had a strawberry one and we traded half-for-half. There are no pictures of the crepes because we were running late for our tour and scarfed them. Or at least most of them, there was a lot of crepe.
Then we headed to the tour. It was a small group, about 8 total, and our tour guide was pretty knowledgeable. We have been to Eastern Market a million times, so some stuff we knew, but we did learn some new things. Kyle took a lot of pictures of just about everything.
After the tour, Kyle and I headed to Rocky's to buy some candy! Rocky's is a pretty cool store, they have tons and tons of different kinds of peanuts and roasted almonds, spices, cooking fare, and LOTS of candy.
After buying way too much crap, we headed out for lunch. We decided to head over to the Bronx Bar by Wayne State. I didn't get any pics of the bar because I was distracted by the pool table. I really liked this bar, but Lauren said that it used to be a lot different and she doesn't like the changes. I kinda wished I went before they changed everything, but I still like it how it is. I had yummy food and PBR and pool was only 75 cents so I had a good afternoon.

Double Date

Thursday night Lauren and Kevin surprised Kyle and I with a special night out. Kyle and I were told to dress nice and we were not told where we were going. Around 6:30, we left and headed to 6mile and John R, to Dakota Inn, a German restaurant that Lauren has been dying to try.

Of course we took a million pics, but it was so much fun! A really cool historical place, and we got to dress up! The prices were really good, and the food was amazing! I think we all ordered something different so we were sampling each others food, but it was all very delicious. I think we are planning on going back for Oktoberfest, with a big group. I honestly have never been to one, so I am very intrigued and excited to go.
Anywho, It is now Sunday and I have a crazy list of things to do today, and I have no idea where to start...another list :P

Saturday night's alright for fighting

I thought I'd share some pics from Saturday since we had so much fun. I really love my SLR but since it is so huge and one of the few very nice things I own, I am always scared I am going to drop it or leave it somewhere and It will get stolen. How lame! Thankfully Kyle remembered the camera this time and I did manage a few pics so here goes the recap! I did start the day with a jog, but I really doubt that you would want to see that, and I didn't get a picture of that. However, I did mention that I babysat Tripp over the weekend and after I got back from my jog, Kyle and I took Louie and Tripp out for a walk.
We stumbled upon a church rummage sale on Lincoln, not too far from the apartment and we stopped to check it out. I got a pair of boots and a red short-sleeved plaid top for only $3! Then the pups started barking and scared all of the old people away so we had to leave.
After the pups got a good walk in, and were fed, Kyle and I decided to head down to Eastern Market in Detroit to bum around. I love Eastern Market, it is a huge open market and they sell flowers and food outside and in three different sheds. There are also a few really cool stores and restaurants down there. My favorite is Rocky's, it is like a huge grocery store but they have any candy you can think of in the middle of the store. In the Summer, there is also a restaurant that opens up like five huge grills outside and there is karaoke and tables, and everyone has a blast.
I wanted the chair and the travel record player but they cost money lol. I could have spent hours in the stores. We finally got hungry and decided to check out Butcher's Inn, one of the older bars in Detroit. It is also home of the 40oz PBR, and knowing how much I love my cheap beer, Kyle asked if they had it on draft, they did not. He thought that they must be out so could we please just have two bottles? The waitress comes back with two 40oz bottles, in paper sacks. Needless to say we split one and took the other home.
After the food we went home to walk the pups again and then I got ready to go out with the girls. We decided to stay local so we could walk home but we wanted a ride downtown (we all wore heels) and so the guys said they would take us when they got back from the party store. That is when I got bored and made them take outfit pics (I do it to Jamie when she is by me too lol) then we just got crazy with the camera.
We had a pretty fun night bar hoping around Royal Oak. I think this weekend will be a little more quiet. I need to get a lot of things together this week and the next few before school starts. Both Kyle's car and Beans need to be cleaned out and need tune-ups before the end of the month. Kyle still has to register for classes and the stupid OU website keeps crashing on him (poor Kyle) there are books and supplies to get and I also have some side projects going on. C'est la vie? :P

Eat 'em up Tigers, eat 'em up!

Guess where we went last night? Yep, Comerica Park to see the Detroit Tigers play! And guess what? They won! wooooot! I love baseball, I never played it, or softball for that matter, but I love going down to the games every spring, summer and fall. It is very American to say this, but it is such a wonderful pastime. The bright green field, the lights, the songs everyone dances and claps to, the hot dogs, the roasted peanuts, the player's cute butts....what's not to love?
Kyle literally took these as we were going out the door, another salvation army find. It is cuter than it looks, I had been sitting and forgot to pull it down, such a horrible fashion blogger lol. Onward to a mini tour of the park!
Above: That is a Ferris wheel back there, the seats are baseballs! Below: Maggs, #30*sigh*
Okay so Kyle may have taken about a million of these, but this one is cool, the pitch, the ball, and the batter about to swing. I was so happy to go because life has been so crazy-busy right now. Kyle thought we needed a little break, and this was perfect. We even saved money because I packed us a dinner to take along with us (so cool that they let you do that). This has been our first date in...I don't know. But a baseball game is always a great date :)
