I Went to See They Might Be Giants with Kyle last night at St.Andrews. It was AWESOME!! I saw them once before in Ann Arbor when they released "The Else". They are one of my favorite bands to see live because they are so fun. I have to give Kyle some kudos for going with me,again, because he likes TMBG but not nearly as much as everyone else there.
They did a ton of my faves as well as new stuff, but one of the highlights was the "avatar" sock puppets that played and thanked TMBG for opening for them. They are very nice, they thanked the crowed multiple times for coming out, and even passed out free bumper stickers to everyone who wanted one, advising that we not wear them on our faces. Despite the ticket Kyle got on the way home (he went the wrong way down a one-way street, not on purpose) I had an exceptional evening. I would have waited around longer after the show to see if John and John were coming out, but I am not that much of an autograph collector, and I was very dumb and forgot my camera. I would love to meet and talk with them sometime though, how this will ever come about is beyond me, but I would love to ask them a few questions as a fan sometime.
I would have to say that I have completely fallen in love with They Might Be Giants all over again though, and will celebrate this love by blasting their Cd's repeatedly over again all weekend. :)
