Rihanna has revealed her shock that Eminem wanted to record a song with her.

The 22-year-old star collaborated with the rapper on the hit single Love the Way You Lie, included on Eminem’s album Recovery earlier this year. The singer spoke of her surprise that the hip-hop star wanted to work with her as she believed he despised pop music.
“Well the first thing I thought, I was like, ‘What, Eminem wants to do a song with a pop artist like me?’ Because you know he always raps and is talking about pop artists, female artists, that was my first thought. The second thought was of course I want to do a song with Eminem as that is something that doesn’t come around every day. Thirdly I love the song it was just a hit,” she told MTV.
With new album Loud out next month, Rihanna went on to confirm the pair have rekindled their partnership to make a sequel to Love the Way You Lie e for her the record. Unlike the original, Rihanna takes the lead and explains her side of the story of a couple stuck in a volatile relationship. Although initially against the idea of the track, Rihanna feels the finished product is impressive.
“When I first got the idea of making part two I was completely against it. I just felt you couldn’t beat the original there was no way you could outdo that. But then I heard the stripped down version and I fell in love with it, then we did another version with drums and then we did another version with Eminem and that was the one that felt really good,” she said.
