Shontelle CONFIRMS collaboration on Rihanna’s ‘Loud’ album, vows to help JLS…

Previously, we posted about Shontelle admitting that she collaborated with her fellow Barbadian superstar Rihanna. All she would say is that they did something together in the studio recently but she would not elaborate or give specific details. However, the 24-year-old now confirms that their collaboration was in deed recorded for Rihanna’s new album ‘Loud’
The singer said: “Rihanna and I go way back and get the chance to catch up loads. I’ve been in the studio with her collaborating on a song for her album ‘Loud’. I’d love to be able to tell you more but I don’t want to spill her secrets”. (Source).
The singer recently recorded ‘Ay Mama’ with JLS for their new album ‘Outta This World’ and says she plans to help them conquer the tough US market. She says: “When JLS reached out to me about a collaboration I was really happy. It was a lot of fun working with them. I know the song’s going to do well and if I can help make a name for them in the States, great” (Source).
‘Ay Mama’ was set to impact US radio this month but got cancelled. It appears the popular UK boyband are postponing the release until their hectic UK schedule dies down. That would make so much sense since they will be busy promoting their new UK single ‘Love You More’, as well as the album which will be out on November 22nd. They should just wait until after their sold-out Arena tour comes to an end next year. It’s great Shontelle wants to help them but she is not exactly a massive star in the States and has only JUST encountered some commercial success herself after a few chart misses.
As I stated previously, if they were looking for a major chart topper, they should have aimed higher. Maybe they did reach out to Rihanna, but for whatever reason, she just couldn’t do it. As for Shontelle, her new album ‘No Gravity’ leaked over the weekend. I didn’t download it because I am just not that amped to listen to it yet, or if I ever. She has some decent cuts but unfortunately, she’s just not my type of artist.
