Christmas is finally over and I am pretty happy. The Family managed to avoid bickering, everyone seemed to really like their gifts, it was a pretty great day. I think the best part was when my seven year-old brother Liam opened his presents, because we all gave him different Nerf guns. There were foam darts and balls being launched all over my parents house all day. Then we sat and watched "Fred Claus" with everyone, and my Grandma brought out some old pictures that she had with her from the old farmhouse. Pictures of her as a child, my Grandpa during the war, the building my Grandma worked at during the war when she was only 15. I wanted to borrow them and scan them but I figured my Grandma wanted to continue showing them to the other grandkids as she makes her rounds this month, so that will have to wait for a bit.
We also went to Kyle's Mom's house for a bit and that was pretty fun too. His Mom is puppy-sitting a bigger dog, Franklin, for some friends for a few months until they can make arrangements to have him sent to their house in Florida. Louie and Franklin got along after a few minutes and chased each other around the yard. Then we sat around eating cupcakes and cookies that Kyle's brother Chris and his wife Michelle brought over from the bakery. We opened more presents and chatted for a few hours before heading home to watch "It's a wonderful life" because I have the hots for Jimmy Stewart. :P
Kyle and I did not get too many gifts for each other because we bought laptops, but Kyle did get me Pinkerton Deluxe on Vinyl!! Even though on the tag it was originally for Scarlet Johanson -_- he also bought me a copy of "The brief wondrous life of Oscar Wao" By Junot Diaz. I had the chance to see Diaz read at my school this past semester and at first I thought it was going to be really boring but then Diaz took the stage and dropped more F-bombs than that angry waitress did in the movie "Waiting". Then I rolled my eyes and thought "oh great, another 'connect with the young people' kind of guys" but he really wasn't. I realized after he read two pieces and answered questions, that he was just being him. He was honest, and opinionated, and I really liked that. I was really pissed that I had not read either of his books, so I put it on my list. I even got to meet him after the reading and my friend Alex and I squealed like girls at an N'sync concert after. Now I am stoked to read his book and I am excited to do a book review of sorts of it on this blog when I am done :).
Not too much to these pictures, I didn't wear this for Christmas but I wore this last week and Louie crashed my pictures. I have more pictures from this night that I want to share with you all so stay tuned!
