Half the sugar, twice the spice

What do I love about Halloween? Candy, hanging out with friends, dressing up in fun costumes and watching scary movies! This weekend I was able to get all of that in and it went by way too fast!

Friday I worked a half-day and ran some errands, managed to straighten out the apartment, let out Trip, walked Louie and studied with Suzzie. We even had a beer with Kyle at the Loving Touch in Ferndale after he got out of work, I love introducing friends to places I like to frequent. After one beer each and the longest game of pool ever, we decided to call it a night and headed home.

Saturday Kyle, Suzzie and I leashed up the dogs for a walk then headed out the the Hilton road Cafe with Brian for some yummy breakfast. Then Suze and I drove out to get Jamie and we drove around everywhere looking for our instruments for our outfits, Suzzie needed a headset, Jamie drumsticks, and I a tambourine. Luckily we found what we needed at a drum store and Toys R us. Then we headed home to make some spaghetti and started the two hour process of getting ready. Which really boiled down to: "Should I wear tights or jeans? Does my bandanna look right? Where are my socks?" Needless to say we started drinking early :P

Finally we were primped and polished and we had Kyle take a bunch of pictures of us trying our best to be Josie and the Pussycats! I loved how we just got creative with our own clothes and some toys. I actually cut up a coat to make my vest at the last minute, the collar was stapled on! I actually really like it like that so I am going to sew it when I have time. The guys got creative at the salvation army. I have no idea what they were trying to be but they looked so awesome!! They told everyone that they were our managers, a lot of people got a kick out of it. We headed off to Lunas and people actually knew who we were! I really wish that I had my camera because there were some amazing costumes. My favorite were the group that went as the Mario brothers game, they even had the bullet! Then there was the love robot, a giant guy dressed as a tooth fairy, Tom Selleck, a bunch of nerds and Lady Gagas, Malcom Reynolds, and Carmen Sandiego. We bar-hoped a bit then grabbed food at National Coney Island and then headed home. Needless to say we had a good time.

Sunday for Halloween I walked the pups, did homework and watched Halloween 3 & 4 (three sucked, just so you know). Since Kyle was at work, Louie and I headed to my parents and my brothers and I carved pumpkins, had cider, ate pizza and candy. We took turns passing out candy to the kids and when Kyle got off work we took my littlest brother Liam out Trick or Treating. He had a blast and we ate waaaay too much candy!

Now I have lots of homework to finish up and I have the office to myself and a whole lotta work to do. I hope everyone had a Happy Halloween!
